I just discovered Boom Boom cards (www.boomboomcards.com ) and after receiving the deck in the mail was excited to get started in the Boom Boom revolution. The first card had us planting so..here is my blog on it and pics to go with it. Enjoy and check out Boom Boom cards!
Since Gus started soccer back in August we have had very little time on the weekends for taking care of our yard, something we used to do quite bit. This weekend was the first weekend that we did not have any games and our first weekend with our new Boom Boom deck...so we took advantage! Chip, Gus, Lilly and I spent the last two days in the garden. We cleaned and pulled and played and explored and planted and watered and fertilized. We looked at worms and bugs, spiders and snails and talked about why plants are important and where different kinds of food comes from. We got filthy dirty, wet and tired but when you see your kids laying in the dirt making "dirt angels" and laughing it makes for a good time. We still have plants to plant in the front yard so that neighbors and visitors can see them...maybe next weekend. What we can't wait for is our veggies and herbs (two kinds of peas, cauliflower, romaine, arugula, artichokes, basil and parsley) to grow so we can share the fruits of our labor with our friends and neighbors. It's been a great weekend...I have blisters to prove it!
